The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scappy Do fails with a takedown attempt.

It looks like Just Fight Scappy Do has been cut.
Ball takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Scappy Do shoots in and drives through. Ball sprawls well.
Ball throws a nice inside leg kick.
Scappy Do tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Scappy Do closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ball circles away.

I was talking to Ball's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Ball turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ball manages to end up in side control.
Scappy Do takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Scappy Do is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Ball is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Ball can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Scappy Do is looking to escape.

Ball throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Scappy Do swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ball tries a low kick but Scappy Do avoids it.

Ball fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Scappy Do.

As Scappy Do backs away, Ball returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Scappy Do felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
