PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jawph Ja Hari (ranked 3578 p4p, 5209 weight class) and Robbie Blackwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ja Hari has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jawph Ja Hari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robbie Blackwell!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ja Hari slaps away a takedown attempt from Blackwell, before circling back to the center of the mat.
It looked like Ja Hari wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Blackwell throws a leg kick but Ja Hari sees it coming and moves out of range.
Blackwell throws a sloppy head kick and Ja Hari moves out of range easily.
Ja Hari swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Blackwell shoots in but no luck this time.
Ja Hari appears to be looking for a big counter.
Blackwell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ja Hari tries to avoid it but Blackwell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ja Hari to the ground. Ja Hari escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jawph Ja Hari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robbie Blackwell.
Blackwell shoots in for a takedown but Ja Hari shows good takedown defense.
It looked like Ja Hari was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Robbie Blackwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blackwell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ja Hari as he avoids it easily.
Ja Hari appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Blackwell closes the distance and clinches.

Blackwell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ja Hari's guard.

Ja Hari manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Blackwell misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ja Hari.

Ja Hari leaves Blackwell with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jawph Ja Hari showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Blackwell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
