Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lupon Sanchez (ranked 25418 p4p, 25309 weight class) and Robert Brown (ranked 461 p4p, 464 weight class). Sanchez comes to the cage accompanied by Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby. Lupon Sanchez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lupon Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Brown!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sanchez is defended easily by Brown.
Sanchez shoots for a double leg takedown but Brown sprawls well. He's pushed Sanchez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sanchez takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Brown leaves Sanchez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lupon Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sanchez clinches.
Sanchez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Brown's efforts to push away.
Sanchez jumps guard but Brown stands there with Sanchez around his waist. Sanchez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sanchez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Brown is looking to work some ground and pound but Sanchez has wrist control.

Sanchez is looking for a triangle but Brown pushes his legs off easily.

Brown stands up over Sanchez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Sanchez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brown defends it easily.
Sanchez controls Brown momentarily but Brown frees himself.

Sanchez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Brown looking to sit in guard and control but Sanchez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brown can do anything to dispel that myth.
Brown is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Sanchez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brown works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sanchez wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.
Brown is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sanchez is controlling him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Brown manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Sanchez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Brown walks away with a smile on his face. Sanchez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Sanchez takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Sanchez closes the distance and clinches.
We've been informed that Brown has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Sanchez has Brown pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Brown manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Sanchez gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Brown is looking to control Sanchez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brown avoid being mounted?
Sanchez stalling.

Brown kicks Sanchez off and gets back to his feet.
Brown lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Brown misses with a series of wild punches.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Brown dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Brown avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Brown tries to sprawl but Sanchez drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Brown kicks Sanchez off and gets back to his feet.
Brown shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sanchez defends it nicely.
Brown shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sanchez eats them both and turns towards Brown to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Sanchez dives in and grabs Brown's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brown pushes down on Sanchez's head and hops out.
Brown looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brown shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brown showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sanchez.
Sanchez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Sanchez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Brown is trying to get back to full guard.

Brown pushes Sanchez off looking to stand but Sanchez dives back in and keeps control.
Sanchez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Brown holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Sanchez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Sanchez seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sanchez is trying to work for a kimura but Brown is defending well.
Lupon Sanchez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Brown is trying to stand.
Sanchez not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Brown controlling the position for now.
Brown keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Brown looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Brown throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sanchez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Brown is in Sanchez's guard.

Sanchez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Brown thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Sanchez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brown can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Brown wants to stand but Sanchez has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Brown really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanchez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sanchez is looking for a triangle but Brown pushes his legs off easily.
Sanchez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brown manages to get himself to full guard.

Brown controls Sanchez momentarily but Sanchez frees himself.

Brown escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sanchez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Brown is looking to stand up but Sanchez isn't so interested in that idea.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lupon Sanchez will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Brown with a nice cross.
Sanchez shoots in but Brown avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sanchez is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Brown misses with a low kick.
Brown tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sanchez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sanchez drops down looking for a counter takedown but Brown sprawls and moves away.
Brown scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Brown is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Sanchez fails with the takedown.
No joy there for Brown, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brown has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sanchez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Brown avoids it really well and circles away.

Sanchez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brown swivels and escapes.
Brown lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Brown throws a head kick but Sanchez moves out of range.
Sanchez avoids a punch combination nicely.

Robert Brown seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Sanchez on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Sanchez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Sanchez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Brown works over Sanchez's head and body with a nice combination.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sanchez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Brown counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sanchez chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Brown can pounce on him.
Brown jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Sanchez dodges the punch combination from Brown.
Brown throws a leg kick but Sanchez checks it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Brown thuds a left hand into Sanchez's body.
A combination from Brown does no damage.
Brown lands with a cross.
Brown is looking to clinch but Sanchez is avoiding it.
Brown feints a jab promting Sanchez to slip. Brown then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Sanchez slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Brown lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sanchez at a distance.
Brown doesn't manage to clinch there - Sanchez circles away.

Brown darts in and clinches Sanchez up against the cage.
Sanchez keeps control of Brown as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Brown tries to break free but Sanchez pushes him back against the cage.
Brown tries to pull guard but Sanchez forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Sanchez pulls guard effortlessly.

Sanchez has his foot on Brown's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brown works his way back into a safe position though.
Brown wants to stand and escape but instead Sanchez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Brown pulls Sanchez in close to prevent any damage.
Sanchez throws an elbow that misses. Brown uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sanchez's guard. Nice move by Brown!

Sanchez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brown defends well.
Brown is working Sanchez over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Sloppy strikes from Brown. Those never looked like landing.
Sanchez misses with a takedown

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brown fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Sanchez on the side of the head.

Brown takes the fight into the clinch.
Brown is trying to push Sanchez away but Sanchez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

And that's the end of the fight!
Robert Brown comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Brown has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
