The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turgenev darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Turgenev wants to pass to mount but Perez is defending the position.
Turgenev thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Perez's head.
Perez has hold of Turgenev's hands but Turgenev slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Turgenev wants to pass the guard but Perez is defending well.
Turgenev slips a nice elbow through Perez's hands, connecting with Perez's forehead.
Perez keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Turgenev lands a nice short elbow.

Perez is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Turgenev scores with a couple of nice shots.
Turgenev is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Perez is hurt! He's hurt bad - Turgenev fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Perez from any more punishment! Congratulations to Turgenev! Great finish!

A relieved looking Pasha Turgenev thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
