Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arlo Rochester (ranked 1247 p4p, 305 weight class) and Kazuki Takeda (ranked 174 p4p, 51 weight class). Rochester comes into the arena with Tech N9ne- Dysfunctional blaring out of the sound system. Kazuki Takeda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arlo Rochester!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazuki Takeda!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeda gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Takeda misses with a looping left.
Left hook, right uppercut from Rochester.
Takeda ducks under a wild hook from Rochester.
Takeda looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Rochester will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Takeda looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Rochester misses with an uppercut.
Rochester misses with a right hand
and Takeda cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rochester misses with a hook
and Rochester takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rochester slips a straight right by Takeda.
Takeda steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rochester.
Takeda throws out a counter right but Rochester avoids it with no problem.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rochester dips to his left and cracks Takeda with an uppercut!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Takeda blocks the body kick.
Takeda misses with a looping left.
Takeda misses with a lunging right hand
and Takeda takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rochester blocks a jab.
Rochester connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Takeda momentarily.
Takeda throws an off balance right hand
and Rochester makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Takeda really felt that one!
Takeda with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rochester to score with a decent uppercut.

Takeda is rocked!
Takeda sizes up Rochester with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Rochester throws an overhand right that lands on Takeda's shoulder, as Takeda tries to avoid the shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rochester waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Takeda.
Takeda ducks under a wild hook from Rochester.
Rochester is looking to chop away at Takeda's legs.
Rochester really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rochester throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Takeda to counter with a crisp jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Takeda works Rochester's body with a nice hook.
Rochester waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Takeda.
Rochester uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Nice straight punches there by Takeda. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Takeda.

It looks like Arlo Rochester has been cut.
Rochester tests Takeda's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Rochester throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Takeda counters with a takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Takeda working the ground and pound.
Rochester gets back to half guard.
Rochester is not content to let Takeda control the position.
Rochester regains full guard. Nicely done.
Takeda wants to control from the top but Rochester keeps moving.
Takeda working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Rochester keeping moving, preventing Takeda from controlling successfully.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Takeda's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Takeda throwing strikes but missing.

Rochester working for a triangle but Takeda defends it easily.
Takeda trying to control but Rochester is working from the bottom.
Takeda working some strikes from top position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Rochester working for submissions but it's allowed Takeda to get to half guard.
Takeda has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Takeda missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Arlo Rochester will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Arlo Rochester's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Rochester loads up on a big right hand but Takeda slips the punch.
Rochester throws a lazy uppercut

and Takeda counters with a right hand that sends Rochester tumbling to the canvas! Can Takeda finish him? He dives into Rochester's guard looking to do just that!

Rochester is rocked!
Takeda trying to control the position from guard on top but Rochester is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Oh Rochester is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rochester wants to sweep here but Takeda controlling him for the moment.
Rochester seems to have got his legs back now.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Takeda working his ground and pound in the gym.
Takeda postures up.

Rochester has his feet on Takeda's thighs here. He's pushed Takeda off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Takeda screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Arlo Rochester!
