Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Clayton Riggs (ranked 3736 p4p, 5762 weight class) and Pepetinho Perez (ranked 340 p4p, 433 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clayton Riggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pepetinho Perez!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez closes the distance but Riggs moves to the side
and Riggs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Riggs sizes up Perez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Perez wants to clinch up but Riggs keeps it at a distance.
A punch combination from Riggs misses.
Perez shapes to counter with a head kick.
Riggs lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Perez misses with a body kick.
Riggs wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Riggs stuffs the takedown.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Riggs.

Perez decides to pull guard.
Perez controlling the position.

Riggs avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Riggs's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Perez looking for a guillotine here but Riggs defends easily.
Perez trying to keep a closed guard but Riggs is proving a slippery customer.
Riggs trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Perez manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Perez won't allow Riggs to sweep him here.

Perez stands up and waves to Riggs to follow him.
Perez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Riggs pinned against the cage. Riggs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Clayton Riggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pepetinho Perez.

and Riggs counters with a three punch combo that has Perez backing up. Perez nods at Riggs to acknowledge the strikes.

Riggs pushes Perez up against the cage in a clinch.
Perez is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Riggs gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Perez on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Riggs misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Perez wants a takedown but no success here.

Perez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Riggs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Perez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Riggs circles away.
Perez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Riggs as he jumps to the side.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Perez shoots and misses
and Riggs counters with a stiff right hand.
Perez looks for the body kick but Riggs saw that one coming.
Riggs lands a nice hook to Perez's body. Perez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Riggs fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Perez on the side of the head.

Riggs closes the distance and clinches.
Riggs stops a takedown attempt from Perez.
Riggs lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Perez or not.
Perez avoiding damage as Riggs throws knees to the body.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Riggs lands a body punch in the clinch.

Perez pulls guard successfully.
Perez keeping full guard, as Riggs tries to pass.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Riggs wants to get up but he can't break Perez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Riggs is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Perez can do to turn this around?
Riggs is stalling in the full guard.
Riggs tries to stand but Perez is controlling from the bottom.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Perez has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Riggs doesn't defend quickly enough and Perez has managed to lock this one up! Can Riggs escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Perez on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Pepetinho Perez!
Clayton Riggs spoke after the fight, saying 'I ain't got time for this shit'.
