Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Albans (ranked 2778 p4p, 4247 weight class) and Fried Slobberknacker (ranked 318 p4p, 460 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fried Slobberknacker!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Albans misses with a looping right.
Slobberknacker looks to throw the jab but Albans is out of range.
Slobberknacker misses with a body punch

and Albans counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Slobberknacker is trying to control the position but Albans postures up.
Albans looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Albans trying to control the position from guard on top but Slobberknacker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Slobberknacker wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Albans sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Albans trying to control but Slobberknacker is working from the bottom.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Slobberknacker is trying to keep Albans in close.

Slobberknacker scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
A nice inside leg kick there by Slobberknacker. That's going to slow Albans down.
Sloppy strikes from Slobberknacker. Those never looked like landing.
Albans changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Slobberknacker throws a left and a right that both miss

and Albans decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Slobberknacker's guard.

Slobberknacker kicks Albans off and gets to his feet.

Slobberknacker bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Fried Slobberknacker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Albans counters with a single leg into guard. Slobberknacker didn't expect that.
Albans wants to pass the guard but Slobberknacker is keeping the position.
Slobberknacker looking to control.
Slobberknacker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Albans manages to get himself to full guard.

Albans is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Albans is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Slobberknacker is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Albans has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Slobberknacker is looking to defend but Albans has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Slobberknacker! Albans pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Slobberknacker taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Matthew Albans !
Matthew Albans decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
