Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob Sapo (ranked 865 p4p, 1306 weight class) and Thomas Bennett (ranked 136 p4p, 192 weight class). Rob Sapo has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Sapo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thomas Bennett!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennett closes the distance looking to clinch
and Sapo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've been hearing reports that Sapo has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Bennett tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sapo defends well and Bennett ends up having to push Sapo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

It looks like Thomas Bennett has been cut.

Bennett fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sapo, pushing him back against the cage.

Sapo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sapo moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Sapo stuffs the takedown attempt from Bennett. Bennett gets slowly back to his feet.
Rob Sapo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Bennett.
Bennett tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sapo swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bennett clinches up with Sapo and pushes him back against the cage.

Sapo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bennett has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sapo has managed to get both his arms back between Bennett's legs - danger averted.

Bennett is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sapo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sapo has escaped and now he's on top!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Rob Sapo seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
