Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vitorio Santos (ranked 6372 p4p, 4135 weight class) and Glenn Greenwald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Vitorio Santos has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Vitorio Santos seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vitorio Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Glenn Greenwald! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Greenwald sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Santos somewhat. Greenwald looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Greenwald closes the distance and clinches. Greenwald misses with the head strike.
Greenwald lands a body shot. Greenwald throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Santoss head. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Greenwald prevents the takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Greenwald is trying to maintain a safe position but Santos gets an underhook and turns Greenwald into the cage. Greenwald swings wildly with an uppercut but Santos uses good head movement to avoid it. Greenwald misses with the head strike.

Santos tries to score a body lock takedown but Greenwald shows good agility there to stay on his feet. A battle for position here, against the cage. Santos is trying to break the clinch but Greenwald is controlling him. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Greenwald doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Santos has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Greenwald is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Greenwald takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. And that is the end of the round. Glenn Greenwald dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Greenwald stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Greenwald throws a body shot but no joy. Vitorio Santos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Greenwald connects with an inside leg kick. Santos blocks a low kick nicely. Greenwald keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Greenwald cracks Santos with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Greenwald tries to clinch but Santos moves out of range. Santos fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Greenwald is breathing heavily. Santos shoots for a double leg takedown but Greenwald sprawls well. He's pushed Santos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Greenwald swings for the body but Santos moves out of range.

Santos is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Greenwald. Greenwald is looking to land body kicks. Greenwald has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Santos moves out of range of the leg kick from Greenwald. Santos throwing a counter right hand but Greenwald manages to avoid it.

Greenwald lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Santos shoots for a takedown but Greenwald saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Santos closes this distance looking for a takedown but Greenwald circles away. Glenn Greenwald seems to be getting the better of the standup. Greenwald looks for the body kick but Santos saw that one coming. Santos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Greenwald but Greenwald pushes him off and we're back to square one. Santos has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Greenwald.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Greenwald manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Greenwald wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Santos manages to pass to side control. Greenwald avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Santos. Santos is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Greenwald sees it coming and defends easily. Santos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Santos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Greenwald is just riding it out for now. Santos eventually gives up the hold. Santos is trying to control. Greenwald wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Santos frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Santos is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Greenwald has managed to escape the submission attempt.
