Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Boris Bors (ranked 1218 p4p, 1347 weight class) and Clin Cartwright (ranked 134 p4p, 144 weight class). Cartwright comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Cirice kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boris Bors! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Clin Cartwright! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bors misses with an uppercut
and Cartwright counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Cartwright is figuring out what he wants to do next. Cartwright trying to mount his opponent but Bors defends it. Cartwright trying to control from half guard but Bors is working away. Bors keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Cartwright content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cartwright seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bors does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cartwright controlling the pace. Cartwright wants to work for an arm triangle but Bors is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bors definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Cartwright is looking to advance position but Bors won't allow it. Cartwright seems to be working for a kimura but Bors defends the submission attempt. Cartwright trying to advance position but Bors counters by regaining guard. Cartwright wants to control from the top but Bors keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bors keeping full guard, as Cartwright tries to pass. Cartwright showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Bors misses with a combination
and Cartwright counters with a nice double leg into guard. Cartwright trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bors keeping moving, preventing Cartwright from controlling successfully. Cartwright is stalling in the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cartwright wants to control from the top but Bors keeps moving. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Cartwright working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Bors trying to control the position here.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Bors misses with a right hand and Cartwright counters with a takedown into side control. Bors is not content to let Cartwright control the position. Cartwright goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bors has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cartwright but great work by Bors.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Who's going to make the next move? Bors decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cartwright to his feet. Bors throws a head kick that misses and Cartwright counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Bors! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cartwright tries to advance to mount but Bors denies him. Bors wants to control but Cartwright postures up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cartwright wants to control but Bors is keeping him busy. Bors seems a little lost for a moment, as Cartwright dominates the positioning. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Clin Cartwright dominated that round. That's time! Bors's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Bors swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
so Cartwright counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Cartwright tries to free his leg and advance position but Bors is retaining full guard. Cartwright is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Cartwright's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cartwright looking to sit in guard and control but Bors gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cartwright holds on and takes a little breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cartwright has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bors is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Cartwright. Cartwright can't do much from the bottom here. Cartwright sneaks back into half guard. Cartwright tries to get to full guard but Bors has control of the leg. Cartwright wants to control but Bors is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Cartwright wants to get back to full guard. Cartwright is trying to control but Bors passes into side control!
Cartwright is trying to get back to half guard. Cartwright struggling a bit here. Cartwright gets back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are battling for position here. Cartwright manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cartwright looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Cartwright is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bors defends well. Cartwright wants to control the position but Bors says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Bors decides to return to a standing position. Bors misses with a hook. Bors ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cartwright moves away. Bors swings away with a leg kick that misses. A little jabbing left from Cartwright on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bors sizes up Cartwright with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
It looks like Clin Cartwright has been cut. Bors misses with a looping left. Bors cracks Cartwright with a right hand to the side of the head. Cartwright shoots in looking for a takedown but Bors manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cartwright's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Bors feints and then cracks Cartwright's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cartwright down. Bors lands with a nice combination. Cartwright backs away looking to recover. Bors throws a hook to the side of Cartwright's head but Cartwright sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Bors throws a lazy right hand but Cartwright sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bors swings for the body but Cartwright moves out of range.
Cartwright is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Bors with a body shot. Bors takes a swing at Cartwright's ribcage but misses. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A cross from Bors lands. Bors avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bors misses with a leg kick and Cartwright counters with a takedown into side control. Bors throws Cartwright to one side and escapes! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Boris Bors dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Clin Cartwright's cut. That's time! Bors's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! A head kick misses from Bors. Bors misses with a looping left. Bors swings for the body but Cartwright moves out of range.

Cartwright is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bors will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Cartwright working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Cartwright wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bors keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cartwright controlling from side mount. Cartwright goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bors rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Cartwright's guard! Nice work there by Bors! Bors is fighting to break Cartwright's control of his arms but Cartwright is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Cartwright lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Bors is controlling Cartwright's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cartwright content to stall in guard here. Cartwright trying to control but Bors is working from the bottom. Cartwright slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Cartwright controls the position. Clin Cartwright has got the better of the ground game so far. Bors can't do much from the bottom here. Cartwright is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bors is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cartwright is staying tight to Bors's torso, preventing him from escaping. Cartwright wants to control but Bors is keeping him busy. Cartwright tries to advance to mount but can't. Cartwright is looking to take a break and control but Bors is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Cartwright taking a break here but Bors is having none of it and regains half guard. Cartwright seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bors does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Bors keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Cartwright closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bors circles away. Cartwright slips a jab from Bors. Bors misses with a series of wild punches.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Boris Bors. I think Bors has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
