Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sean Dash! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Dos Santos! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dos Santos closes the distance and clinches. Dash is trying to break the clinch but Dos Santos has him pressed against the cage. Dash breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dos Santos shoots in for a double leg but Dash sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Dos Santos fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dash, pushing him back against the cage. Dash is trying to break the clinch but Dos Santos is controlling him. Dos Santos has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dash is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Dash's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dash lands a jab. Dos Santos fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dash to the ground. Dos Santos is now in Dash's guard. Dos Santos looking to pass the guard. Dos Santos wants to control from the top but Dash keeps moving. Dash might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Dos Santos passes Dash's left leg - he's now in half guard. Dos Santos is pressing down on Dash's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dash is holding on for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dash pushes Dos Santos off looking to stand but Dos Santos dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dos Santos trying to pass the guard but Dash defending well. Dash's coaches at MMA Training and Sparring Buddies have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Dos Santos moves into full mount! Dash won't be happy about that! Dos Santos swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Dash is now in Dos Santos's guard. A big mistake from Dos Santos there, giving up the dominant position! Dash trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dos Santos's guard. Dos Santos wants to stand and escape but Dash is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos has a closed guard, preventing Dash from standing up. Dash is posturing up here but Dos Santos has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Dash tries to roll out but it's too tight and Dash has to tap! Slick submission there by Dos Santos!
