The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petric closes the distance and clinches up with Maran, looking for a takedown. Petric pushes Maran against the cage but Maran circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Maran misses with a wild combination.
Maran throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Heitor Maran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maran drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Petric managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Maran.
Petric defending against the ground and pound.
Petric manages to get back to half guard.
Maran wants to stand up but Petric is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Petric kicks Maran off and gets back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
