Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Luciano (ranked 1361 p4p, 1964 weight class) and Brock Karelin (ranked 190 p4p, 278 weight class). Tony Luciano could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Brock Karelin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tony Luciano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brock Karelin!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Karelin shoots in and bounces Luciano off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Karelin trying to control but Luciano is working from the bottom.
Luciano working a defensive guard here.
My spies in HB Training center inform me that Karelin has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Karelin is in close to Luciano's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Karelin throws a big right hand that misses.
Luciano definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Luciano avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Karelin distracts Luciano with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Luciano can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Karelin controls the pace.
Karelin trying to control but Luciano is working from the bottom.
Karelin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Luciano utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Karelin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Luciano works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Luciano wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Luciano knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karelin on the ground.
Karelin is looking to work some ground and pound but Luciano has wrist control.

Karelin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Luciano dives on top into guard.

Luciano wants to control from the top but Karelin keeps moving.

Karelin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Luciano defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Karelin wants to sweep here but Luciano controlling him for the moment.

Karelin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Karelin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Luciano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Karelin is trying to control the position but Luciano postures up.
Luciano wants to control from the top but Karelin keeps moving.

Luciano stays in close to Karelin's body and controls the position.
Karelin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Luciano manages to get himself to full guard.

Luciano is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Luciano is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Karelin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Luciano keeping moving, preventing Karelin from controlling successfully.
Luciano avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Karelin preventing the sweep.
Luciano controls Karelin momentarily but Karelin frees himself.
Luciano keeping moving, preventing Karelin from controlling successfully.
Karelin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Luciano can't keep his opponent in guard - Karelin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Karelin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Karelin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Luciano does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Karelin dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

It looks like Brock Karelin has been cut.
Karelin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Luciano counters with a nice uppercut.
Tony Luciano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Karelin.
Karelin misses with a takedown
and Luciano counters with a huge left! Karelin is in big trouble! He's backing up but Luciano isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Karelin from any more damage. A dominating finish by Luciano!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Luciano!
