Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kody Dangerfield (ranked 4446 p4p, 4490 weight class) and Marco Polo (ranked 402 p4p, 407 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kody Dangerfield! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marco Polo! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polo lands with a hook. Dangerfield tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. A jab lands there for Polo. Polo fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dangerfield on the side of the head. Nice takedown defense from Polo. No joy for Dangerfield on that attempt. Polo looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Dangerfield uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Polo. The crowd cheers as Polo lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dangerfield doesn't seem phased though. Polo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dangerfield. Polo scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Dangerfield shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Polo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Polo pulls Dangerfield in close to prevent any damage. Polo trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dangerfield drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dangerfield jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dangerfield trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dangerfield trying to control but Polo is working from the bottom. Dangerfield is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Polo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Dangerfield looking to pass the guard. Polo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Polo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Dangerfield trying to control but Polo is working from the bottom. Polo has his hands on Dangerfield's head, controlling the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Polo thows a left - swing and a miss! Marco Polo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Polo throws out a powerful jab. Dangerfield shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Polo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Dangerfield is looking to work some ground and pound but Polo has wrist control. Polo looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Dangerfield trying to control but Polo is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dangerfield drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dangerfield jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Polo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dangerfield is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Dangerfield thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Dangerfield drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dangerfield jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dangerfield trying to control but Polo is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dangerfield is stalling in the full guard. Dangerfield thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Polo wants to stand and escape but Dangerfield is having none of it. Polo looking to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Polo can't keep his opponent in guard - Dangerfield advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Polo is defending against the submission attempts here by Dangerfield.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Marco Polo will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Dangerfield fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Polo! But no joy. Polo connects with a crisp jab. Polo scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Polo lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dangerfield at a distance.

He's got hold of a leg but Polo swivels and escapes. Dangerfield shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Polo defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kody Dangerfield. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dangerfield drops his hands momentarily and Polo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Kody Dangerfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dangerfield closes the distance and clinches up with Polo, looking for a takedown. Dangerfield pushes Polo against the cage but Polo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Dangerfield shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Polo as he jumps to the side. A lazy left from Polo finds it's target. Dangerfield throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Polo's waist but Polo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dangerfield off to one side. Dangerfield darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Polo can do anything to dispel that myth. Dangerfield is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Polo sees it coming and defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dangerfield sitting and controlling from the half guard. Polo is looking to improve his position.
Dangerfield not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Dangerfield tries to pass the half guard into mount. Polo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Dangerfield not doing much here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dangerfield trying to pass the guard but Polo defending well. Dangerfield is trying to control. Polo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Polo desperately trying to maintain half guard. Dangerfield is looking to take a break and control but Polo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dangerfield works his foot free and advances to mount. Polo tries to improve his position but Dangerfield has taken his back! Dangerfield has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Polo tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Dangerfield pushes Polo away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kody Dangerfield! Kody Dangerfield tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
