PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jules Durand (ranked 701 p4p, 669 weight class) and Pete Tyler (ranked 112 p4p, 105 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyler jabs Durand to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Durand throws a nice looking combination but Tyler bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tyler throws a leg kick but Durand checks it.
And Durand counters with a quick kick to the body but Tyler blocks it.

That has opened up Pete Tyler's cut even more.

Tyler's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Durand connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Tyler scrambles back to his feet.

and Durand counters with a three punch combo that has Tyler backing up. Tyler nods at Durand to acknowledge the strikes.

Tyler bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Durand's head backwards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Durand on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Durand displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tyler throws out the jab.

Durand takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Durand takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Durand counters with a crisp one two that drops Tyler! Durand thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Tyler to his feet! Tyler is in big trouble!

Durand fakes the body blow, causing Tyler to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Tyler goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
