PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Tannenbaum (ranked 5001 p4p, 4174 weight class) and Peter Kowalski (ranked 538 p4p, 483 weight class). Tannenbaum comes to the cage accompanied by Andrea Bocelli: O Tannenbaum. Peter Kowalski has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tannenbaum takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kowalski tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tannenbaum was well out of range. Poor timing from Kowalski.

Tannenbaum looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A chopping leg kick lands by Tannenbaum.
Tannenbaum drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kowalski gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Tannenbaum counters with a head kick.

My spies in New York Training Academy inform me that Kowalski has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Tannenbaum is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kowalski is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kowalski remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
