Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alexei Mikhailov (ranked 2313 p4p, 2473 weight class) and Horley Gore (ranked 235 p4p, 251 weight class). Mikhailov's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Положение (2 Remix). Horley Gore has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Alexei Mikhailov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexei Mikhailov! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Horley Gore! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mikhailov tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Gore counters with a straight punch to the midsection. The fight moves into the clinch position. Gore scores with an uppercut up the middle. Mikhailov wants the takedown. Gore is fighting it off but Mikhailov persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gore's guard against the cage. Mikhailov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gore swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mikhailov stops Gore from standing up. Mikhailov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gore is keeping the position for now. We've been hearing that Mikhailov has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Gore wants to get back to his feet but Mikhailov is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Mikhailov tries to free his leg and advance position but Gore is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mikhailov is working hard here to advance position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gore can do anything to dispel that myth. Gore is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mikhailov is controlling him. Gore keeping full guard, as Mikhailov tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gore wants to stand but Mikhailov is controlling the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Mikhailov moves to clinch but Gore breaks away and Gore counters with a straight right hand. Gore jabbing away but nothing is landing. Mikhailov tries to clinch up but Gore circles away and keeps his distance. A little jabbing left from Gore on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Alexei Mikhailov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gore throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Mikhailov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gore, pushing him back against the cage. Gore lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Mikhailov or not. Gore scores with a shoulder strike. Gore throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Mikhailovs head. A short right from Gore on the inside. Mikhailov wants to take the fight to the mat but Gore manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Mikhailov is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gore gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Gore breaks from the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mikhailov instigates a clinch. Mikhailov wants to take the fight to the mat but Gore manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexei Mikhailov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gore is leaning against Mikhailov and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A right hand to the body from Gore.
Mikhailov is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Mikhailov goes for a takedown in the clinch but Gore prevents it.
Gore breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mikhailov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gore as he avoids it easily. Mikhailov tries to clinch and Gore counters with a straight right hand. The fighters circle momentarily. Gore darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Gore jabs Mikhailov to the body, keeping him at a distance. Gore throws a jab but it's blocked by Mikhailov. Gore is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mikhailov. Mikhailov on the wrong end of a nice hook. Mikhailov tries to close the distance and clinch but Gore swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Mikhailov closes the distance but Gore moves to the side letting Gore counter with a right hand.
Mikhailov is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mikhailov wants to clinch but Gore slips to the side and Gore counters with a crisp right that sends Mikhailov to the canvas! Gore follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Horley Gore! Horley Gore is the new featherweight champion! Our winner, Horley Gore, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
