Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Floki Magnusson (ranked 4670 p4p, 4669 weight class) and Antonio Arepas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Floki Magnusson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Antonio Arepas! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arepas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Magnusson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Magnusson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Magnusson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Magnusson is working Arepas over with some ground and pound from side control. Arepas can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee asks Magnusson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Magnusson prefers to stall for the moment though. Arepas is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Magnusson is controlling him well. Arepas is looking to reverse the position. Magnusson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Magnusson working the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Magnusson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Arepas wants to control but Magnusson postures up.

Arepas pushes Magnusson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Magnusson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. You can see the frustration on Arepas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Arepas is trying to get back to half guard. Magnusson in side control lands a decent elbow. It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Arepas's shoulder. That is not cool. Arepas is working to avoid the ground and pound but Magnusson connects with a decent elbow. Magnusson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Magnusson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Arepas takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. A lull in the action here. Magnusson scoring with punches and elbows. Arepas is looking to regain half guard here but Magnusson keeps moving and retains side control. Arepas is trying to escape the position but Magnusson is controlling the position. Floki Magnusson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Magnusson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Arepas seems to have recovered his senses. Magnusson working the body and head with strikes. Magnusson staying calm. Arepas taking punishment in the form of punches.

Floki Magnusson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Magnusson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ground and pound from Magnusson.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Magnusson drops an elbow to the side of Arepas's head. Magnusson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Magnusson works his foot free and advances to mount. Magnusson putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Arepas takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Arepas working to try and regain half guard.
Arepas is breathing heavily. Magnusson looking to finish Arepas with some ground and pound. This is bad for Arepas! This has been an exciting period of action! Magnusson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Arepas can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Arepas is bucking up trying to escape but Magnusson cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Arepas working to try and regain half guard.
