Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mancha Aisland (ranked 890 p4p, 1217 weight class) and Eric Jacquin (ranked 118 p4p, 157 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mancha Aisland! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eric Jacquin! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacquin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Aisland defends well and Jacquin ends up having to push Aisland into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Jacquin shoots in for a double leg but Aisland sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Aisland fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jacquin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Aisland sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jacquin somewhat. Mancha Aisland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Jacquin. Jacquin shoots in but Aisland avoids the takedown attempt easily. It looked like Aisland was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Jacquin. Aisland throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Aisland shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jacquin as he jumps to the side. Jacquin drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Aisland defends it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jacquin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Aisland is trying to control but can't.
Aisland is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jacquin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jacquin's back!

Jacquin felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jacquin tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Jacquin is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real. Jacquin is trying desperately to improve position. Jacquin gets back to half guard. Jacquin wants to control but Aisland is keeping busy.

Aisland is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Jacquin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Aisland pulls his head out easily. Aisland has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jacquin wants to improve his position but Aisland is controlling well.

Aisland working away from the top, dropping strikes. Jacquin sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Aisland is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Aisland is looking for a kimura but Jacquin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Aisland to get the leverage. Jacquin tries to roll over but Aisland keeps him under control. A momentary lapse in concentration from Aisland enables Jacquin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Aisland manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Jacquin wants to pass the guard but Aisland is keeping the position. Aisland has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jacquin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Aisland is on top in guard.

Jacquin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Aisland defends it easily. Aisland is working Jacquin over from the guard. Aisland might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Aisland passes into half guard. Jacquin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Jacquin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aisland doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Aisland manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Aisland stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jacquin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jacquin is pulling down on Aisland's head. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. No luck for Jacquin with that takedown attempt. Jacquin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Aisland defends it nicely. Jacquin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. And that's the end of the fight! Mancha Aisland showed his dominance in that final round. Well Aisland has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
