Weismuller kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Nobody Speak. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy Weismuller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ameen Robertson!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weismuller forces Robertson back against the cage and clinches.
A nice right hand lands inside from Robertson.
I was talking to Weismuller's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Robertson tries to work over Weismuller's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Robertson takes a shot to the head.
Weismuller fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Weismuller tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Weismuller misses with a punch on the inside.
Weismuller misses with some punches.
Weismuller misses with a hook from the clinch.
Weismuller blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Weismuller misses with some punches.

Weismuller's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Weismuller misses with an uppercut.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Robertson! But no joy.
Weismuller looks to land a right hand but Robertson moved out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weismuller throws an overhand right that lands on Robertson's shoulder, as Robertson tries to avoid the shot.
Robertson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Robertson is looking to clinch but Weismuller is avoiding it.

Weismuller fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Robertson, pushing him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Weismuller lands with a short punch from the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Robertson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Weismuller working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Weismuller breaks from the clinch.
Robertson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Weismuller feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Robertsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Robertson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Weismuller to score with a decent uppercut.
Weismuller cracks Robertson with an open hand slap.
Weismuller comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Weismuller fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Weismuller throws an off balance right hand
and Robertson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A punch lands to the side of Robertson 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Weismuller looks to throw the jab but Robertson is out of range.
Robertson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Weismuller cracks Robertson with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Weismuller has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Robertson to stand back up!

Robertson is rocked!

It looks like Ameen Robertson has been cut.
Tommy Weismuller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Weismuller throws an overhand right that drops Robertson like a sack of potatoes! Weismuller dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tommy Weismuller!
An out of breath Tommy Weismuller thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
