Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Wingers Son (ranked 2360 p4p, 4076 weight class) and Raja Jooseppi (ranked 137 p4p, 211 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wingers Son!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raja Jooseppi!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jooseppi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Son.
Son takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Jooseppi sizes up Son with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Jooseppi misses with a right hand

and Son counters by moving into the clinch.
Jooseppi lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Jooseppi swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Jooseppi looking to stall.

Jooseppi is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Son tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Son can't find room to land a body shot as Jooseppi controls the action.

Son jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jooseppi walks away with a smile on his face. Son gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Son looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Raja Jooseppi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Son uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jooseppi.
Son tries to counter with a takedown but Jooseppi is quick to defend against it.
Son shoots for a double leg takedown but Jooseppi sprawls well. He's pushed Son's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wingers Son. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The referee is keeping an eye on Jooseppi - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Jooseppi is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Son has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jooseppi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Jooseppi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Son manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jooseppi manages to get himself to full guard.

Jooseppi is refusing to be controlled, as Son sits in half guard.
Jooseppi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Son is working away from the top position though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Son ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jooseppi misses the shot to the body.

Son tries to pull guard but Jooseppi holds him up against the cage and eventually Son drops back down to his feet.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jooseppi lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Son backwards.
Jooseppi is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

A close second round but Raja Jooseppi will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Son's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Son changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Son is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jooseppi sees it coming and defends easily.
Jooseppi is staying active underneath Son, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Raja Jooseppi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Wingers Son overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Son is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jooseppi defends it well.
Jooseppi preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Jooseppi has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Son is landing a low percentage of strikes.

I would just about give that final round to Raja Jooseppi.
I've got Jooseppi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
