PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Vieira (ranked 23226 p4p, 23422 weight class) and Charles Foster (ranked 212 p4p, 191 weight class). Foster comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Nuclear Power Trio - A Clear and Present Rager kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Charles Foster will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roberto Vieira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charles Foster!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vieira shoots and misses
and Foster counters with a one-two to the body.
Vieira gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Foster counters with a two punch combo.

Foster clinches with his opponent.

Foster jumps into guard, dragging Vieira to the mat.
Vieira won't allow Foster to get back to his feet.
Vieira lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Foster should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Foster is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Foster told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Foster is trying to stand back up but Vieira is controlling him

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Foster.
That kick from Foster tenderised Vieira's leg. Vieira is trying to keep his angry face on.

Vieira closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Foster's guard.
Vieira is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Foster working a defensive guard but Vieira manages to pass into side control anyway.
Vieira takes a little break here. Foster wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Foster is trying to work for a sweep but Vieira has mounted him!

Vieira shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Foster's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Foster fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Vieira has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Foster tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vieira paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vieira tries for a takedown but Foster sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Foster might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Vieira haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Foster shoots in but Vieira avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Foster has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Vieira fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Foster sprawls well initially but Vieira persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Foster wants to stand back up but Vieira manages to pass into side control.

Check out the look on Vieira's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Foster seems a little lost for a moment, as Vieira dominates the positioning.
Foster trying to control but Vieira flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Vieira doesn't have the hooks in and Foster manages to turn into his guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Roberto Vieira.
I think Vieira has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
