Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jhonny Lait!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh Wyte!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wyte slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Lait keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wyte.
Lait quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Wyte misses with a lunging right hand
and Lait counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lait.
Wyte working for a triangle but Lait defends it easily.

Lait stopping the sweep attempt from Wyte.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lait controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lait with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Wyte lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lait manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wyte manages to get himself to full guard.

Lait stands up from Wyte's guard - Lait perhaps looking for a knockout.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lait closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wyte to the mat! Wyte manages to get full guard.
Lait gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Lait slips under a jab.
Lait ducks under a wild hook from Wyte.
Lait lands a jab-cross combination.
Wyte pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Wyte throws a lazy right hand but Lait sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Lait feinted with a counter takedown.
Lait moves into the clinch.
Lait is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Wyte is defending well.
Wyte breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lait takes one on the chin but seems OK.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wyte gets caught flat footed, as Lait shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Wyte looks winded!
Lait content to stall in guard here.
Lait drops back looking for a leg! Wyte is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wyte manages to kick Lait off! Lait jumps back into Wyte's guard.
Lait passes Wyte's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lait perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Lait will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wyte has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Lait is on him like a limpet, forcing Wyte back against the cage.
Lait breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lait scores with a head kick.
Lait ducks under a wild hook from Wyte.
Lait uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Wyte.
Lait has taken the fight to the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lait shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wyte is trying to defend but Lait finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Ground and pound from Lait.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Wyte looks to throw the jab but Lait is out of range.
Wyte throws a lazy uppercut
and Lait counters with a one-two to the body.
Lait ducks under a wild hook from Wyte.
Lait throws a quick counter kick to the body but Wyte avoids it.
Lait is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wyte can do to turn this around?
Wyte misses with an uppercut.
Lait appears to be looking for a big counter.
Josh Wyte seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wyte connects with a single shot there.
A slow jab from Wyte misses its intended target.
A big right from Wyte misses.
Lait bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Lait darts in and clinches Wyte up against the cage.
Wyte blocks the elbow strike.
Lait prevents Wyte from breaking the clinch.
Wyte prevents the takedown attempt.
Wyte wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lait has him pressed against the cage.
Wyte is trying to break free.
Wyte wants to break the clinch but can't.
Lait gets control of Wyte's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lait will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Lait wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Wyte wants to stand but Lait has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Wyte stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lait swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lait is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Wyte has his hands clasped together but Lait extends and breaks Wyte's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Lait.
