Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Beverley (ranked 4328 p4p, 5579 weight class) and George Montagu (ranked 510 p4p, 573 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Montagu!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montagu throws a looping overhand right but Beverley ducks down to avoid it.
Montagu fails with an attempt to clinch.
Montagu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Beverley.
Beverley moves out of range of the strikes.

Beverley shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Beverley showed some decent athleticism there.
Montagu tries to kick Beverley off in order to stand up. Beverley Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Beverley decides to stand back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Beverley fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Montagu, pushing him back against the cage.
Montagu's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Beverley blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Montagu lands a hook to the side of the head.
Beverley tries a knee to the head but Montagu blocks it.

Beverley changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Montagu fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Montagu displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Beverley.
Montagu misses with a body shot.
Montagu missing with a left hand there. Beverley was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Montagu wants to clinch.
Montagu is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Beverley ducks under a wild hook from Montagu.
Beverley throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Beverley gets the takedown into side control.
Montagu seems a little lost for a moment, as Beverley dominates the positioning.

Beverley has hold of Montagu's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Montagu tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Beverley cranks the arm and Montagu screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Montagu, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Patrick Beverley was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
