Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jim Melamed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dallas Heatley!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melamed fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Heatley manages to avoid it.
Heatley only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Melamed shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Heatley counters with a straight right hand.
Heatley throws a low kick but it's checked well by Melamed.
Heatley stuffs the takedown.
Heatley swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Melamed fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Heatley is out of range.
Heatley connects with a good right hand that stumbles Melamed. Melamed circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
It looks like Jim Melamed has been cut.
Melamed tried to score with a low kick but Heatley checks it.
Melamed thuds a left hand into Heatley's body.
Melamed tries to clinch but Heatley moves out of range.
Heatley cracks Melamed with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Melamed looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Heatley finish him?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Melamed shoots for a takedown but Heatley saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Melamed.
Heatley does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Melamed will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Heatley throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Melamed sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Heatley throws a body shot but no joy.

Melamed misses with a leg kick
and Heatley counters with a good low kick that Melamed was not able to check.
Melamed shoots in but Heatley avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Heatley lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Heatley throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Melamed stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Melamed goes for a double leg but Heatley avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Heatley continues to drive forward.
Melamed throws a punch but it's blocked by Heatley.

Heatley breaks the clinch.
Melamed tries to clinch but Heatley is having none of it.
Melamed closes the distance and clinches up with Heatley, looking for a takedown. Melamed pushes Heatley against the cage but Heatley circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Melamed definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Jim Melamed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Melamed shoots for a takedown but Heatley saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

That's time! Melamed's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Heatley connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Melamed gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Heatley gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Melamed is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
