Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack London (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BeeJay Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
London looks to score with a jab to the body but Penn is just out of range.
Penn waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract London.
Penn connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed London momentarily.

Penn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but London was well out of range. Poor timing from Penn.
London ducks under a wild hook from Penn.
Penn looks for the body kick but London saw that one coming.
BeeJay Penn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Penn throws a jab but it's blocked by London.
Penn checks a low kick from London.
London moves out of range as Penn strikes.
Penn looks to land a right hand but London moved out of range.
London showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Penn.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Penn throws a looping overhand right but London ducks down to avoid it.

London looks to land a left hand but Penn moved out of range nicely.
Penn bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
London fails with an attempt to clinch.

London is breathing heavily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

London closes the distance and clinches up with Penn, looking for a takedown. London pushes Penn against the cage but Penn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


London rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Penn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
London ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Penn moves away.
Penn slips a straight right by London.
London is looking to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
London misses with a takedown attempt - Penn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Penn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but London circles away quickly and effectively.

It looks like Jack London has been cut.
Penn throws a jab but it's blocked by London.

London uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Penn.

London closes the distance and clinches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

London decides to pull guard.
London striking off his back but it's not causing Penn any problems.

London has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
London looking to hit a scissor sweep but Penn is one step ahead there.

London is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Penn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but London does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
London looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

London postures up in Penn's guard and throws a big left but Penn blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Penn wants to sweep but no luck.

Penn looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
London works over Penn with some ground and pound from guard.
London is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Penn utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Penn seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Penn wants to stand and escape but London is having none of it.

London throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Penn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
London lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Penn wants to get back to his feet but London is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

London tries to close the distance and clinch up but Penn swats him away and circles back towards the center.
London shoots for a double leg takedown but Penn sprawls well. He's pushed London's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

London pushes Penn up against the cage in a clinch.
London goes for a takedown in the clinch but Penn prevents it.
Jack London has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
BeeJay Penn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Penn is looking for a takedown up against the cage. London gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

London wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack London. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Penn can't get the takedown.
Penn lands a shot to the body.
A right hook to the body lands for London.
London throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
London has Penn pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Penn manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
A head punch on the inside from London fails to land.
London tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
London lands a body shot.
Penn tries for a takedown but London manages to get underhooks.
Penn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. London avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack London showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Penn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
