Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alexei Mikhailov (ranked 2876 p4p, 4117 weight class) and Somchai Saetang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mikhailov kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Положение (2 Remix). Somchai Saetang has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Alexei Mikhailov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Somchai Saetang !
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saetang drives through and clinches with Mikhailov against the cage.
Saetang connects with a nasty looking knee right to Mikhailov's face.
Mikhailov takes an elbow to the temple.

Saetang is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Mikhailov is defending well for now.

Mikhailov blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Saetang tries to land knees in the clinch but Mikhailov avoids the damage to the body.

Mikhailov wants the takedown. Saetang is fighting it off but Mikhailov persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Saetang 's guard against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Saetang is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mikhailov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Saetang swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Saetang has control of Mikhailov's left arm, preventing Mikhailov from doing any damage.
Mikhailov won't allow Saetang to sweep him here.

Mikhailov is looking to take a break and control but Saetang is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Saetang takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Mikhailov advances to full mount.
Mikhailov lands a nice shot to the head.
Saetang is trying to escape the mount.
Saetang tries to lock up and control but Mikhailov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Saetang takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Mikhailov looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Mikhailov cracks Saetang with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Saetang takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Mikhailov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Saetang looks a forlorn figure.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Saetang can do anything to dispel that myth.

Saetang really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mikhailov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mikhailov lands with some strikes.
Mikhailov postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Saetang badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Mikhailov around the waist but Mikhailov pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Mikhailov is the winner by TKO! Mikhailov jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexei Mikhailov!
An out of breath Alexei Mikhailov thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
