Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Masvidal (ranked 5286 p4p, 2444 weight class) and Cuervo Oquendo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masvidal comes into the arena with Prayer blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jorge Masvidal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cuervo Oquendo!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oquendo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Oquendo slaps away a takedown attempt from Masvidal, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Masvidal shoots in but Oquendo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Masvidal shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Oquendo defends it nicely.
Oquendo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorge Masvidal. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A cross from Oquendo lands.
Oquendo lands a big right hand that sends Masvidal crashing to the mat! Oquendo stays standing though and waves Masvidal back to his feet!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Oquendo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Masvidal dives in and grabs Oquendo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Oquendo pushes down on Masvidal's head and hops out.
Oquendo tests Masvidal's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Masvidal is rocked!
Masvidal needs to keep his hands up - Oquendo had a free shot at his head there.
Oh Masvidal is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Masvidal circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Oquendo. Masvidal falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Oquendo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Cuervo Oquendo!
Jorge Masvidal spoke after the fight, saying 'I got taught respect because if not, somebody's gonna make you respect them'.
