Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Jackson (ranked 4573 p4p, 24170 weight class) and Rufus Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chris Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rufus Hughes! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughes walks into a left hand. Chris Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson cracks Hughes with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Jackson misses the shot to the body. Jackson listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Hughes swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Hughes takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jackson lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Jackson works over Hughes's head and body with a nice combination. Hughes slips a jab and a cross from Jackson.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hughes fails in his attempt to clinch. Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Donk. Jackson catches Hughes right on the button with a cross. Hughes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jackson counters with a stiff right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jackson wants it to stay on the feet. Jackson lands a jab. Hughes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jackson.
A combination from Jackson does no damage. A combination from Jackson does no damage. Jackson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hughes.
Jackson is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Hughes staying out of range there. Hughes on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jackson sprawls well. Jackson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hughes gets slowly back to his feet. Jackson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Chris Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rufus Hughes. A combination from Jackson does no damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson misses with a right hand and Hughes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jackson swinging wildly here.
Jackson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Chris Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jackson punishes Hughes's body with a nice straight punch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hughes moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off. Hughes thuds his shin into the meat of Jackson's side. Hughes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jackson.
Jackson is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Donk. Jackson catches Hughes right on the button with a cross. Jackson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hughes's head. Jackson missing with a left hand there. Hughes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Jackson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Hughes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jab by Jackson. Hughes takes a jab right on the kisser.
Hughes is rocked! Hughes is aggressively charging in as Jackson backs up avoiding any damage. Jackson tosses out a jab and Hughes runs right into it face first! Hughes is out cold! Jackson dropped down on all fours and is barking in Hughes's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Chris Jackson!
