Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Xxx Xxx (ranked 6732 p4p, 24623 weight class) and Xxx Xxx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Xxx Xxx has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xxx Xxx! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xxx Xxx! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Fighter B throws a wild body kick that Fighter A sees coming a mile off. Fighter A shoots in looking for a takedown. Fighter B tries to sprawl out of it but Fighter A keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fighter B manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Fighter B flicks out a counter leg kick but Fighter A steps away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fighter B darts in looking for a takedown but Fighter A gets double underhooks and turns Fighter B into the cage. Fighter A with a poor takedown and Fighter B counters with a left and a right that stings Fighter A.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fighter B fails to land the takedown. Fighter A closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Fighter A is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Fighter B will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Fighter B wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fighter A remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Fighter B is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Fighter A asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fighter A just content to control the position. Fighter A has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fighter B shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fighter A wants to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fighter A is doing well to control the position and prevent Fighter B from advancing to side control. Fighter B wants to stand up but Fighter A is controlling the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Xxx Xxx dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Fighter B shoots in looking for a takedown. Fighter A tries to sprawl out of it but Fighter B keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fighter A manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Fighter A throws a quick counter kick to the body but Fighter B avoids it. Fighter A tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fighter B sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fighter A somewhat.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fighter A fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Fighter B throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fighter A tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fighter B is in Fighter A's guard. Fighter A is striking from the bottom but Fighter B uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Fighter A controlling the position well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fighter A works his way to full guard. Good work. Fighter B's corner is telling him to maintain position. Fighter A pulls Fighter B in close to his closed guard and prevents Fighter B from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fighter B wants to stand but Fighter A has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fighter A slaps away a takedown attempt from Fighter B, before circling back to the center of the mat. Fighter A thinks about countering with a body kick. No luck with that takedown attempt from Fighter A. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xxx Xxx. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. No luck with that takedown attempt from Fighter B. Fighter B gets the takedown into side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Fighter A is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Fighter B's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Xxx Xxx showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! No luck with that takedown attempt from Fighter B. Fighter B shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fighter A but Fighter A pushes him off and we're back to square one. Fighter A went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fighter B. Fighter A throws a quick counter kick to the body but Fighter B avoids it. Xxx Xxx has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xxx Xxx.
That's one minute gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fighter B is defended easily by Fighter A. Fighter A is looking to counter with a body kick. Fighter A shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Fighter B napping and manages to drive through into side control! Fighter B has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fighter B is trying to escape the position but Fighter A is controlling the position. Fighter B is trying to control Fighter A's posture but Fighter A avoids it. Fighter A controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fighter B is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fighter B fails with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Fighter B looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Xxx Xxx has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Xxx Xxx is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Fighter B is trying to control. Fighter A wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Xxx Xxx. I think Fighter B has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
