2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fighter Mcgee! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Souza shoots for a takedown but Mcgee saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Souza scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Souza is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Mcgee has managed to free his arm - good work. Mcgee wants to get back to full guard. Souza passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mcgee! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mcgee can't escape the position.
Souza looking to control but Mcgee is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mcgee can do anything to dispel that myth. Mcgee is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Souza blocks Mcgee's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Souza has hold of Mcgee's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mcgee manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Mcgee is desperately trying to improve his position but Souza has a good base and remains in mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Souza has isolated one of Mcgee's arms. Mcgee looking to fight him off but Souza twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
