Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Jones (ranked 2590 p4p, 25016 weight class) and Bill Skelly (ranked 339 p4p, 665 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by A History of Bad Men. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Bill Skelly was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dexter Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bill Skelly! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Skelly looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Jones wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Skelly, who protects the arm well. Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Skelly is trying to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. Skelly is looking to reverse the position. Skelly is not content to let Jones control the position. Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Skelly is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Skelly is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jones wants to control but Skelly is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Skelly sneaks back into half guard. Jones is looking for a kimura but Skelly is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage. Skelly is defending against the submission attempts here by Jones.
Skelly tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Skelly! Jones tries to control but Skelly wriggling away. Jones has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Jones is really struggling to control Skelly but he's trying to hold on to the position. Jones is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Skelly to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Skelly shrugs it off. Jones wants to control the pace but Skelly is squirming around nicely. Skelly is working to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Skelly tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control. Jones is working for a guillotine from mount but Skelly frees his head quite easily.
Jones wants to control the pace but Skelly is squirming around nicely. Skelly keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jones takes Skelly's back. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jones pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Skelly is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Jones!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dexter Jones! Dexter Jones tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
