These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lentz tries to land a front kick but Jackson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Lentz throws a head kick that misses.
Jackson is looking to counter the offense by Lentz and move into the clinch.
Black Lives Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jackson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lentz to keep the fight standing.

Jackson pushes off an throws an elbow but Lentz leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Lentz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Jackson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
A nice left hand lands by Lentz.
Lentz is trying to force a seperation but Jackson has the dominant position.

Jackson pulls guard.

Jackson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lentz stacks Jackson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lentz!

Lentz stands up and beckons Jackson to his feet.

and Lentz counters with a stiff right hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jackson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lentz connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jackson scrambles back to his feet.
Lentz throws a lazy right hand but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jackson.

Lentz throws a series of punches but Jackson avoids them all with ease.
Jackson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lentz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jackson somewhat.

Lentz does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Horrible takedown attempt by Jackson or perhaps it was just good defense by Lentz, which made it look bad.

Lentz cracks Jackson with an uppercut from hell and Jackson crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Lentz's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Lentz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jackson, up you get!

Jackson gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Lentz gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Jackson is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
