Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Day (ranked 3417 p4p, 1608 weight class) and Sorry Eh (ranked 377 p4p, 204 weight class). Sorry Eh has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sonny Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sorry Eh!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Eh throws a half hearted mid kick.
Day lands with a nice combination. Eh backs away looking to recover.
Day misses with a looping right.
Eh drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Day defends it well.
Eh tries a head kick but it misses.
Eh takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Day bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Eh's head backwards.
Day scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Day stuffs the takedown.
Day lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Eh throws a head kick but Day moves out of range.

Eh manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Day on his heels. He'll look to pass Day's guard now, I'm sure.
Eh looking to pass the guard.
Eh stops Day from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eh postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Day being controlled here, momentarily.
Eh is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Day will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Eh controls from within his opponent's guard.
Eh has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Day wants to stand and escape but Eh is having none of it.
Eh seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Day scores with a nice right hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Day connects with a right hand. Eh shakes it off.
Day lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Eh avoids the body shot from Day.
Eh shoots for a double leg takedown but Day sprawls well. He's pushed Eh's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Eh drives through with a takedown into Day's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Eh won't allow Day to get back to his feet.
Day being controlled here, momentarily.
Day is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Eh postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Day looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Eh stays in close to Day's body and controls the position.
Eh sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Day's guard.
Eh stalling.
Eh prevents Day from standing back up.
Day knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Eh on the ground.
Ground and pound from Eh.
Day keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eh prevents Day from standing back up.
Eh lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Eh is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Eh not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Eh looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Eh looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Day with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Day looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sonny Day will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Day throws a leg kick but Eh moved away.
Eh uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Day.
Eh drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Day defends it well.
Eh fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Eh walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Day lands with a good body shot.

Eh feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Eh engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Eh is continuing to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Day working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Eh.

Eh landing some decent shots from guard.
Eh stops Day from standing up.
Eh scoring with punches to the head and body.
Eh has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Montreal. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Day can't keep his opponent in guard - Eh advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Eh takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Let's hope that Eh has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Eh is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Eh with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Eh lands strikes from half guard.
Eh is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Day is rocked!
Eh winds up and cracks Day with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Oh Day is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Eh is working for a kimura but Day is defending it quite comfortably.
Eh lands with a punch from half guard.
Eh scores with a big shot! Day's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Day! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sorry Eh!
