The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Mullen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but Mullen is defending well.

Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mullen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Mullen is looking to reverse the position.
Mullen regains half guard.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mullen is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.
Mullen is trying to stand up here but Gracie is controlling him well.

Mullen is trying to maintain the position but Gracie is very close to passing his half guard.

Gracie seems to be working for a kimura but Mullen defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Mullen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.

Mullen kicks Gracie off and gets back to his feet.
Gracie should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mullen stuffs the takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
Gracie looks gassed!
Mullen swinging wilding here.
Mullen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracie.
Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mullen swivels and escapes.
Larry Mullen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Renzo Gracie.
Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Mullen which made him look bad.
Mullen lands with a big left! Gracie is wobbled badly! Mullen comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Gracie to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
