Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rex Gunn (ranked 148 p4p, 1099 weight class) and Harry McQuirre (ranked 19 p4p, 124 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gunn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Miami. Harry McQuirre has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn throws a lazy right hand but McQuirre sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
McQuirre thuds a left hand into Gunn's body.
Gunn looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gunn sizes up McQuirre with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Gunn missing with a left hand there. McQuirre was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McQuirre moves out of range as Gunn strikes.
Gunn blocks a head kick by McQuirre.
Gunn jabbing away but nothing is landing.
McQuirre swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
No joy there for McQuirre, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gunn checks a leg kick nicely.

McQuirre tries to move into range but Gunn moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Gunn throws out a loose jab but McQuirre uses good head movement to avoid it.
As Gunn backs off McQuirre throws a huge counter combo but Gunn manages to avoid it all.
Gunn bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of McQuirre's head.

It looks like Harry McQuirre has been cut.

McQuirre ducks under a wild hook from Gunn.
Gunn backing away here, and McQuirre unleashes a leg kick that just misses.

McQuirre rushes Gunn and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Gunn throws a shot from downtown. McQuirre moves away and avoids it.

As Gunn backs off McQuirre throws a huge counter combo but Gunn manages to avoid it all.

McQuirre throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McQuirre moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
McQuirre moves out of range of the strikes.

Gunn cracks McQuirre with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! McQuirre looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Gunn finish him?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McQuirre drops his hands momentarily and Gunn takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

McQuirre tries to move into range but Gunn moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Gunn drops McQuirre with a naaaaasty hook - McQuirre is in real trouble here! Gunn dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
