Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Ivan (ranked 4530 p4p, 4674 weight class) and Elijah Thomson (ranked 533 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thomson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Thomson wants to clinch.
Thomson moves out of range as Ivan strikes.
Ivan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Thomson sprawls well initially but Ivan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ivan is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Thomson gets his way!
I really don't envy Ivan right now.

Thomson has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ivan has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Thomson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ivan's efforts to push away.
Thomson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ivan uses from the top position.

That was a close round but I would say that Ivan Ivan will probably get the nod.

Thomson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ivan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thomson has managed to get both his arms back between Ivan's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ivan Ivan.
I think Ivan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
