PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lush Rush (ranked 5839 p4p, 5537 weight class) and Oliverium Hebbnesium (ranked 543 p4p, 526 weight class). Hebbnesium comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sk8er Boi kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Oliverium Hebbnesium struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 157.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The key to victory for Lush Rush has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rush has Hebbnesium up against the cage in a clinch.

Rush tries to close the distance and clinch but Hebbnesium swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Hebbnesium fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rush, pushing him back against the cage.

Rush decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hebbnesium, up you get!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lush Rush. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hebbnesium closes the distance and clinches.

Rush breaks from the clinch.
Rush looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Rush fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hebbnesium to the ground. Rush is now in Hebbnesium's guard.

Rush thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Rush decides to stand and escape the position.

Hebbnesium displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rush.

Rush drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rush shoots in looking for a takedown but Hebbnesium manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rush's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

You can see the frustration on Hebbnesium's face as Rush controls the position.
Rush has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Lush Rush overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hebbnesium is looking for a sweep.
Rush tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
You can see the frustration on Hebbnesium's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hebbnesium is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Rush is staying active.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lush Rush.
