Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Liam Meier (ranked 4192 p4p, 5302 weight class) and Christopher Boyd (ranked 459 p4p, 527 weight class). Meier comes into the arena with 2Pac - Hit 'Em Up blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Liam Meier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Christopher Boyd!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meier dives in and grabs Boyd's left leg, looking for a takedown. Boyd pushes down on Meier's head and hops out.
Meier closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Boyd lands with a straight right. Meier didn't see that one coming.
Boyd misses with a hook.

Boyd ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Boyd feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Meiers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Meier changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Boyd fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Meier shoots in looking for a takedown but Boyd manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Meier's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Boyd clobbers Meier with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Meier shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Boyd's guard.
Meier postures up in Boyd's guard and throws a big left but Boyd blocks it.

Meier has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Meier tries to clinch up but Boyd pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Meier to the mat! Meier covers up and Boyd unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
