PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Lee (ranked 2224 p4p, 886 weight class) and Diamond Hand (ranked 281 p4p, 138 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Diamond Hand was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Diamond Hand!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee gets a takedown into half guard.
Lee has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hand trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lee looking for subs off his back but Hand has passed one foot through into half guard.
Hand wants to free his trapped foot but Lee is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Lee wants to improve his position but Hand is controlling well.

The fighters are battling for position here. Lee manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
We've been hearing good reports from Lee's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

My spies in London MMA Club inform me that Hand has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Hand now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Lee tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hand manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hand keeps the fight on the outside.

letting Hand counter with a right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hand throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and Hand connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Hand counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Diamond Hand is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lee shoots in but no luck this time.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hand! But no joy.
Hand has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hand ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lee moves away.
Hand jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lee keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lee looks for a takedown but Hand sprawls well.
Hand cracks Lee with a good jab.
Hand lands with an uppercut that bounces Lee off the cage and back into range.
Robert Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee moves in looking to clinch but Hand pushes him off.
Hand throws an overhand right that drops Lee like a sack of potatoes! Hand dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Diamond Hand!
Our winner, Diamond Hand, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
