Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anwar Rinda (ranked 117 p4p, 363 weight class) and Brett Shoenfeld (ranked 20 p4p, 49 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Anwar Rinda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brett Shoenfeld!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rinda avoids the body shot from Shoenfeld.
Shoenfeld throws a series of punches but Rinda avoids them all with ease.
Shoenfeld fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rinda manages to avoid it.
Shoenfeld throws a body punch but Rinda moves out of range.
Shoenfeld just misses with a punch to the body.

Rinda gets caught napping as Shoenfeld dives in and scores a takedown. Rinda manages to retain guard.

Rinda escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shoenfeld gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shoenfeld tries to free his leg and advance position but Rinda is retaining full guard.

Rinda can't keep his opponent in guard - Shoenfeld advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Rinda has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Rinda won't allow Shoenfeld to pass to mount.
Rinda really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Shoenfeld is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Rinda has given up his back - I dont know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Rinda is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Shoenfeld looking to break Rinda's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Rinda remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Shoenfeld will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Shoenfeld has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Rinda has freed his hand and lives to survive another well, another couple of seconds at least!

Shoenfeld is persistently looking for the submission but Rinda is defending it well.
Rinda turns into Shoenfeld and is now in his guard.
Shoenfeld is looking to sweep but instead, Rinda has passed into half guard.

Rinda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shoenfeld swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Shoenfeld wants to control but Rinda passes easily into half guard.
Shoenfeld is looking for a sweep. Rinda is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Shoenfeld postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rinda is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shoenfeld, into his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rinda passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Shoenfeld felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Rinda tries for a kimura but Shoenfeld is defending well.
Shoenfeld manages to get back to half guard.

Shoenfeld lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Shoenfeld stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rinda swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rinda can't keep his opponent in guard - Shoenfeld advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Shoenfeld tries to advance to mount but can't.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Shoenfeld goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rinda rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Shoenfeld's guard! Nice work there by Rinda!

Shoenfeld is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Brett Shoenfeld showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Shoenfeld swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Shoenfeld shoots for a double leg takedown but Rinda sprawls well. He's pushed Shoenfeld's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rinda was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Rinda has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Shoenfeld's lack of action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rinda wants to improve his position but Shoenfeld is controlling well.
Shoenfeld is keen to just control but Rinda is a slippery customer.
Anwar Rinda has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rinda looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Shoenfeld is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rinda!
Rinda is trying to escape the mount but Shoenfeld keeps good control and instead manages to take Rinda's back.

Shoenfeld is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Rinda has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Rinda is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Shoenfeld gets his way!

Rinda won't enjoy being in this position. Shoenfeld looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Rinda is tapping - it's over boys! Shoenfeld picks up the submission victory!
