And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jani Honkanen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ori throws a right hand that misses

and Honkanen counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Honkanen is controlling the pace.
Honkanen trying to pass the guard but Ori defending well.

Honkanen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ori defends it well.
Ori is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Honkanen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Honkanen's back!
Ori knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Honkanen on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Honkanen just trying to survive but Ori is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Honkanen is really stuck here.
Honkanen manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ori's guard. Nice work there by Honkanen.

Honkanen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Honkanen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Honkanen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Honkanen stands and throws Ori's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Honkanen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ori has escaped the position, nice work there.

Honkanen has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ori is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Honkanen yanks on the arm and Ori is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Honkanen.
