Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arturo Vargas (ranked 39 p4p, 565 weight class) and Phuc Dat Bich (ranked 9 p4p, 87 weight class). Phuc Dat Bich acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arturo Vargas! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 23 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phuc Dat Bich! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Bich's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Vargas rushes Bich and presses him up against the cage. Our sources have told us that Vargas has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Vargas is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bich is defending well for now. Bich tries for a takedown but Vargas manages to get underhooks.
Bich gets control of Vargas's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bich will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Bich is pulling down on Vargas's head to control his posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bich working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vargas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vargas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Vargas is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bich looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vargas is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vargas wants to get up but he can't break Bich's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Vargas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Vargas looking to sit in guard and control but Bich gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Bich passes easily into side control. Nice work. Bich tries to stand but Vargas is controlling his head. Bich controls the position from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bich moves into full mount! Bich looking to control and managing it successfully. Bich jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Vargas manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vargas stops Bich from passing to mount. Bich wants to stand but Vargas is controlling his arm. Vargas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bich on the ground. Bich misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Bich decides to stand back up. Vargas moves into range and clinches up with Bich. Bich blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Vargas has Bich pressed against the cage, preventing Bich from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Vargas tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bich is looking for a takedown. Knees in the clinch landing for Vargas.
Bich is trying to break free. Bich is trying to pull guard but Vargas turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Arturo Vargas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phuc Dat Bich. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Vargas creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. A quick uppercut on the inside from Vargas. Vargas lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bich backwards. Vargas working some nice short punches in the clinch. Vargas throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bich blocks it with crossed arms. Vargas lands with a right to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A short uppercut from Vargas. Bich looking to throw knees to the head but Vargas is blocking nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vargas lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Vargas landing knees to the head.
It looks like Phuc Dat Bich has been cut. Bich stalling in the clinch but Vargas improves position. A left hand lands to the body for Vargas.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Arturo Vargas dominated that round. The cut man is working on Phuc Dat Bich's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Bich shoots for a takedown but Vargas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Vargas doesn't manage to clinch there - Bich circles away.
Bich changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Vargas fails in his attempt to clinch. Bich throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vargas's waist but Vargas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bich off to one side. Vargas is looking to clinch. Bich unleashes a big counter combination but Vargas bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Vargas drives through and clinches with Bich against the cage.

Vargas working some nice short punches in the clinch. Vargas lands a shot to the body. Vargas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bich can do to turn this around? A nice right hand lands inside from Vargas. Vargas lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bich backwards. Vargas unloads a knee to the mid-section. Bich lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Vargas softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. A short right from Vargas.
Bich is rocked! Vargas lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Bich. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vargas lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Vargas lands a body shot. Vargas drops Bich with a big knee straight up the middle! Bich is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet! Bich is still on wobbly legs! Can Vargas finish him? Vargas closes the distance and clinches. Vargas throws a big uppercut that drops Bich! More strikes from Vargas and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Bich lies dazed against the cage as Vargas celebrates with his cornermen!
