Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Evan Gilbert !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Don Beast!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beast closes the distance and clinches.
Beast tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Gilbert just stands there and leans against the cage.
Beast is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Gilbert to keep the fight standing.
Beast gets control of Gilbert 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Beast will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Beast working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gilbert doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Beast is tightening it up a little... Gilbert has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Gilbert reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Gilbert taps out! Nice BJJ there by Beast!
