Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Kai Tokugawa (ranked 562 p4p, 1150 weight class) and Juan David Franco (ranked 86 p4p, 156 weight class). Tokugawa comes to the ring accompanied by Red Warrior. Franco has chosen Bullet For My Valentine- Tears Don't Fall as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kai Tokugawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juan David Franco! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franco throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Tokugawa sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Franco throws a hook but Tokugawa avoids it easily. A big right from Franco misses. A little feinted left hand from Tokugawa on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Franco scores with a spinning back kick! Juan David Franco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice shot by Franco. Franco fakes the leg kick and cracks Tokugawa in the body. Franco delivers a nice body kick. Tokugawa takes a body punch but keeps moving. Tokugawa avoids the head kick by Franco.
Franco swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tokugawa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Franco throws a hook but Tokugawa blocks it. Franco misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Franco does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Tokugawa is looking to counter punch. We've been told by Tokugawa's head coaches at Takeda Clan Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tokugawa throws a lazy uppercut
and Franco counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Franco is looking to land body kicks. Franco scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Tokugawa walks into a jab. Franco throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Franco misses with a hook. Tokugawa swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Franco fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Tokugawa avoids the head kick by Franco.
Tokugawa loads up on a big right hand but Franco slips the punch. A chopping leg kick lands by Tokugawa. Franco throws an off balance right hand
and Tokugawa counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Franco lands with a hook. Tokugawa tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Franco ducks right into an uppercut from Tokugawa. Franco throws a body shot but no joy. Tokugawa takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Franco tries a low kick but Tokugawa avoids it. Franco throws a shot from downtown. Tokugawa moves away and avoids it. Franco tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A little feinted left hand from Tokugawa on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Tokugawa moves out of range of the strikes. An attempted straight right counter from Tokugawa misses the target. Tokugawa slips under a jab. Franco throws a head kick but Tokugawa moves out of range.

Franco displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tokugawa throws out the jab. Franco misses with a low kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Juan David Franco dominated that round. That's time! Tokugawa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Franco misses with a wild body shot. Tokugawa blocks a head kick by Franco.
Franco has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Franco scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Franco throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Tokugawa throws a body shot but no joy. Tokugawa swings for the body but Franco moves out of range.

Tokugawa moves out of range of the body kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A low kick lands for Franco.
Franco lands with a hook. Tokugawa tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Tokugawa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Franco finds it's way round the side to connect with Tokugawa's head. Franco lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tokugawa walks forward, straight into a front kick from Franco. Franco throws a head kick that Tokugawa semi-blocks.
Franco lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Franco throws a shot to the body.
Tokugawa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Franco can pounce on him.
Franco misses with a hook. Tokugawa ducked under it nicely. Tokugawa connects with a crisp jab. Franco throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Franco on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Franco looks to land a body kick but Tokugawa moved away. Tokugawa misses with a hook. Franco ducked under it nicely. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tokugawa throws an overhand right that lands on Franco's shoulder, as Franco tries to avoid the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tokugawa thows a left - swing and a miss! Tokugawa stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Nice defenses there by Tokugawa. Tokugawa throwing a counter right hand but Franco manages to avoid it. Tokugawa displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Franco throws out the jab. Franco throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Franco throws a lazy head kick and Tokugawa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Tokugawa blocks a jab. Franco swings widly with a right hand
and Tokugawa counters with a really nice, stiff jab that drops Franco onto his ass. He'll have to take the mandatory count from the referee but he's back on his feet and he seems OK to continue.
Franco is rocked! Franco throws a sloppy head kick and Tokugawa counters with a beautiful hook that drops Franco to the mat! Will Franco be able to recover his senses? The referee starts the count at 3 having sent Tokugawa to a neutral corner. 4,5,6 and Franco is up. He looks OK to continue. Franco is still on wobbly legs! Can Tokugawa finish him? The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Franco misses with an uppercut. Tokugawa saw that one coming. Franco seems to have recovered his senses. Franco scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A nice inside leg kick there by Tokugawa. That's going to slow Franco down. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kai Tokugawa takes the second round thanks to the knockdowns. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round! Franco scores with a spinning back kick! Tokugawa loads up on a big right hand but Franco slips the punch. Tokugawa takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Tokugawa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Tokugawa swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Juan David Franco seems to be getting the better of the standup. Franco throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Franco connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Tokugawa will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Franco lands a front kick. Franco lands a head kick that bluckles Tokugawa and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Franco no doubt looking to push for a finish!

Tokugawa slips a jab from Franco. Tokugawa has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Franco. Franco misses with a body kick. Franco avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Franco lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Tokugawa at a distance.
Franco misses with a right hand and Tokugawa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franco connects with a single shot there. Franco misses with a head kick.
This has been an exciting period of action! Franco uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tokugawa.
A slow jab from Tokugawa misses its intended target. Franco misses with a looping right. Franco jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Tokugawa walks into a perfectly timed head kick by Franco and drops face first to the floor! Tokugawa's eyes are wide open but he's not all there - he's just flopping around the mat like a drunk on rollerskates! The referee doesn't even start the count - he's called an end to the fight, with Tokugawa in no position to continue!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Juan David Franco! Juan David Franco seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
