Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Murrdock is looking to clinch. Kersikov changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Murrdock instigates a clinch. Kersikov has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Murrdock after a bit of a struggle. Kersikov prevents a takedown attempt there.

Kersikov controlling the position. Murrdock trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Murrdock sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kersikov's guard. Murrdock looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kersikov holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Murrdock is trying to control the action in half guard but Kersikov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Murrdock is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kersikov is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Murrdock wants to advance to full mount but Kersikov doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Murrdock trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Murrdock trying to move into half guard but instead Kersikov has managed to sweep! The referee asks Kersikov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kersikov prefers to stall for the moment though.

Kersikov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Murrdock is looking to escape. Murrdock tries to reverse the position but Kersikov maintains control.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Murrdock is working hard here to advance position. Kersikov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Murrdock is looking to escape. Murrdock reaches up and pulls Kersikov towards him, trying to control the position. Kersikov manages to get a guillotine from the mount though! This could be big trouble for Murrdock! Murrdock tries to roll over - now Kersikov is on the bottom but the guillotine is really deep and Murrdock has to tap out! Great work there by Kersikov!
