Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between RJ Lucy (ranked 4909 p4p, 6182 weight class) and Pablo Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, RJ Lucy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pablo Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz fails with the takedown
and Lucy counters with a three punch combo that has Diaz backing up. Diaz nods at Lucy to acknowledge the strikes.
Diaz misses with a combination
and Diaz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Diaz tries for a takedown but Lucy circles away easily
and Lucy counters with a nice uppercut.
Lucy cracks Diaz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lucy sprawls well. Lucy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet.
Lucy swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Diaz has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Lucy!
Diaz prevents Lucy from getting the reversal.
Diaz lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Lucy sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Lucy is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Next Level MMA, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Lucy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Diaz works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Diaz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lucy defends it well.

Diaz looks up at the clock and then as Lucy takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Diaz smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Diaz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Lucy is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lucy's waist but Lucy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side.
It looked like Lucy was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Diaz misses with the combination.
Lucy appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Lucy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Diaz can do to turn this around?

Lucy connects with a good right hand that stumbles Diaz. Diaz circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Lucy's corner calls for a 1-2. Lucy obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Diaz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lucy sprawls well initially but Diaz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Diaz seems content to control.

Diaz passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lucy!
Diaz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Diaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lucy tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lucy to the ground. Lucy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Diaz closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lucy quickly recovers to half guard.
Well, if Diaz is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
