The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sky shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Murphy sprawls well. Murphy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sky gets slowly back to his feet.
Sky takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sky misses with a looping left.
We've been told by Murphy's head coaches at Eastern Queens MMA Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Sky throws an off balance right hand
and Murphy counters with a leg kick.

and Murphy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The fighters circling - Sky throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Sky is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Murphy defends it well.

Sky is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sky prevents Murphy from improving his position.
Sky is thwarting Murphy's attempts to control the position.
Sky is trying to control the action in half guard but Murphy is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Sky stops Murphy from getting back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sky decides to stand up.

Sky takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Sky is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Murphy leaves Sky with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sky has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Murphy finds it's way round the side to connect with Sky's head.

It looked like Murphy was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Sky throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sky tries for a takedown but Murphy circles away easily
and Murphy counters with a nice uppercut.
Liam Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Blue Sky.
Murphy throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Sky scores with the left hand. Murphy knows he should have avoided that one.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sky shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Murphy as he avoids it easily.
We've been informed that Sky has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
