Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kokkoro Kirin (ranked 987 p4p, 597 weight class) and Vern Vurris (ranked 152 p4p, 100 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kokkoro Kirin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vern Vurris!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Damien Edna and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vurris slips a jab from Kirin.
Kirin throws a quick inside leg kick.
Vurris finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Kirin swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
The fight stays on the outside here - Vurris looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vern Vurris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vurris gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kirin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kirin has a couple of punches blocked by Vurris.
Kirin avoids the elbow strike from Vurris, against the cage.
Vurris drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kirin gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Kirin looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Kirin fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Kirin misses with a knee to the head.
Kirin misses with a hook from the clinch.
Vurris told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
Kirin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kirin ducks under a wild hook from Vurris.
Kirin looks to land a left hand but Vurris moved out of range nicely.
Vurris uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kirin.
Vurris tries to close the distance and clinch but Kirin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kirin scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Vurris throws a front kick that sends Kirin stumbling back into the cage.
Kirin keeps the fight on the outside.
Kokkoro Kirin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kirin misses the jab.
Vurris fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kirin, pushing him back against the cage.
Vurris has Kirin pressed against the cage, preventing Kirin from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Vurris lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kirin wants to improve his position but Vurris is controlling well.
Kirin is working hard here to advance position.
Kirin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vurris on the ground.
Vurris is looking to take a break and control but Kirin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Vurris throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Kirin tries to roll over but Vurris keeps him under control.
Vurris not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vurris trying to control the action but Kirin is working from the bottom.
Vurris working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Vurris sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kirin defending well though.
Vurris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kirin keeps working.
Kirin is controlling Vurris's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vurris drops an elbow to the side of Kirin's head.

Vurris is trying to work for a kimura but Kirin is defending well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vurris wants to pass the guard but Kirin is defending well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Vern Vurris will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Vurris works Kirin's body with a nice hook.
Vurris has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kirin finds it's way round the side to connect with Vurris's head.
Vurris keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Vurris thinks about the counter body kick.
Vurris throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vurris shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kirin's guard.

Vurris drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kirin dives on top into guard.

Kirin wants to pass the guard but Vurris is keeping the position.
Vurris bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kirin's guard.

Vurris slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Kirin avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Vurris.
Vurris is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Vurris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kirin keeps working.

Vurris creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kirin sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Vurris wants to control but Kirin is keeping him busy.
Vern Vurris has got the better of the ground game so far.
Vurris lands an elbow.
Kirin is working to avoid the ground and pound but Vurris connects with a decent elbow.
Vurris is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kirin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Vurris wants to control but Kirin is keeping him busy.
Vurris is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vurris misses with the ground and pound.
Kirin regains half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Vern Vurris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Vurris throws a head kick but Kirin moves out of range.
Vurris lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Vurris thumps Kirin with a low kick.
Vurris fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kirin manages to avoid it.
A chopping leg kick lands by Vurris.
Vurris throws a push kick but Kirin slaps the foot to one side.
Vurris throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Vurris shoots in for a takedown but Kirin shows good takedown defense.
Vurris lands a two punch combo.
Vurris is looking to slow Kirin down with leg kicks.

Vurris walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kirin checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Kirin jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Kirin slips a jab from Vurris.
Vurris pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As Vurris backs away, Kirin returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Vurris connects with an inside leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vurris. Kirin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kirin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Vurris drops his hands momentarily and Kirin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Vurris has managed to clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kirin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Kirin trying to stall but Vurris improves his position.
Vern Vurris is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Vurris.
It looks like Kokkoro Kirin has been cut.
Kirin is looking to control Vurris's arms but Vurris gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kirin has his back to the cage.
Kirin can't find room to land a body shot as Vurris controls the action.
Kirin lands with a short shot to the head.
Kirin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kirin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Vurris doesn't manage to clinch there - Kirin circles away.
Kirin went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Vurris thows a left - swing and a miss!
Vurris shoots in looking for a takedown. Kirin tries to sprawl out of it but Vurris keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kirin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Good shot there by Vurris.
Vurris has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Vurris - that will leave a mark!
Vurris shoots in but no luck this time.
Kirin throwing a counter right hand but Vurris manages to avoid it.
Kokkoro Kirin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vern Vurris.
Kirin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vurris moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A nice side step and Vurris releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Kirin misses with an uppercut. Vurris saw that one coming.
Vurris shoots in but no luck this time.
Kokkoro Kirin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Vurris shoots in for a double leg but Kirin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kirin is looking to counter punch.
Vurris lands with a slapping head kick.
Vurris shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kirin but Kirin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Vurris looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kirin slips a jab and a cross from Vurris.
Kirin throwing a counter right hand but Vurris manages to avoid it.
Kirin throws the kick towards the body but Vurris avoids it.
A telegraphed right hand from Kirin misses the target.
A nice side step and Vurris releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
And that's the end of the fight!
Vern Vurris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Vurris winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
