Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Foai Foao (ranked 5121 p4p, 3624 weight class) and Jeff Lowenthal (ranked 565 p4p, 450 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Foai Foao! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeff Lowenthal! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Foao moves in looking to clinch but Lowenthal pushes him off. Lowenthal lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Foao wants to clinch. Lowenthal shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Foao manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lowenthal manages to get himself to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Foao wants to control from the top but Lowenthal keeps moving. Foao scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lowenthal has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Foao can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lowenthal throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Lowenthal swings around for an armbar but Foao sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lowenthal's guard. Lowenthal looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lowenthal is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Lowenthal wants to stand and escape but Foao is having none of it. Foao throws a big elbow that misses. We've been informed that Lowenthal has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Lowenthal escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Foao gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Foao is standing up over Lowenthal. Lowenthal looks to escape but Foao dives into side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jeff Lowenthal dominated that round. That's time! Foao's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Lowenthal shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Foao's guard. Lowenthal postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Lowenthal is working Foao over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Lowenthal postures up and lands a big shot to Foao's brow. Lowenthal landing with the ground and pound. Lowenthal avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lowenthal wants to sweep but no luck. Lowenthal working a defensive guard here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Lowenthal closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Foao did well to prevent Lowenthal getting side control. Foao moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Foao wants to get back to his feet but Lowenthal is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Lowenthal stands up over Foao, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Lowenthal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Foao. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Foao being controlled here, momentarily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jeff Lowenthal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Lowenthal. Foao takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

A big shot lands for Lowenthal! That's hurt Foao! Will he recover? Lowenthal fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

After the fight, Jeff Lowenthal was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
